Description

This advanced training session is designed for CTSO officer teams and advisors who have completed the Beginning Officer Training.  In this workshop, teams will practice skills for conducting effective meetings including correct parliamentary procedure, agenda development, and reporting.  

NOTE: Teachers must attend both the Beginning and Advanced Training sessions to receive ADE Credit

Objectives

-Demonstrate making and seconding a main motion
-Demonstrate the four-part debate method
-Demonstrate a variety of voting methods
-List the seven subsidiary motions and the rules which govern them
-Correctly use the seven subsidiary motions in a meeting
-List two incidental motions and the rules which govern them
-Correctly use the two incidental motions
-Review all remaining incidental motions, plus privileged and restorative motions


Course Instructors

Mr. Curt Bertelsen is a Pima County JTED fully accredited teacher in Tucson, Arizona. Curt started his career as an Agricultural Science teacher in 1985 and has been devoted to helping shape education ever since.
