Description

This is a one-day workshop, designed for CTSO officer teams and advisors.  This workshop covers those skills associated with conducting meetings including parliamentary procedure. Participating teams receive resource materials.

Please invite 4-7 officers (ideally the same students that participated in CTSO Officer Training)!

Teachers are to attend and fully engage with their teams for the whole day.  

NOTE: Teachers must attend both the Beginning and Advanced CTSO Officer Training sessions in the same school year to receive ADE Credit

Objectives

-Demonstrate making and seconding a main motion
-Demonstrate the four-part debate method
-Demonstrate a variety of voting methods
-List the seven subsidiary motions and the rules which govern them
-Correctly use the seven subsidiary motions in a meeting
-List two incidental motions and the rules which govern them
-Correctly use the two incidental motions
-Review all remaining incidental motions, plus privileged and restorative motions


Course Instructors

Mr. Curt Bertelsen is a Pima County JTED fully accredited teacher in Tucson, Arizona. Curt started his career as an Agricultural Science teacher in 1985 and has been devoted to helping shape education ever since.
