Description

Student Success on the Technical Skills Assessment Matters!

This course is designed to equip you with tools and strategies to assist students in increasing their performance on the TSA!  Discover how Arizona’s TSA impacts your school’s A-F grade and meets the requirement of state legislation.  Identify key factors that contribute to an effective review session. Learn highly engaging strategies to use as students review and prepare to take the TSA, including the use of educational technology to increase participation and provide students with immediate feedback.  Develop the questions and resources needed so that you leave the class fully prepared to implement your TSA preparation and review plan.  Optional Open Lab on February 3, 2020.

Objectives

 

-Describe the new A-F School Grading System and how each of us plays a role in our school’s grade
-Summarize how the Technical Skills Assessment impacts students, teachers and the school
-Identify characteristics of effective classroom games/competitions to prepare students for assessments
-Create engaging review activities using educational technology platforms such as Kahoot and Quizlet to prepare students for assessments
-Create multiple-choice test items aligned with the TSA

Course Instructors

Mr. Curt Bertelsen is a Pima County JTED fully accredited teacher in Tucson, Arizona. Curt started his career as an Agricultural Science teacher in 1985 and has been devoted to helping shape education ever since.
